OHM & Brightspace: Generate and Import OHM Course Cartridge (1.1 and 1.3 directions)

This article covers LTI 1.1 and 1.3 integration. If you are unsure with version your campus is using, please reach out to your Lumen team member.

You may watch this video or follow the steps below:

1. Generate Lumen OHM Course Cartridge

From the home page of the OHM course:

  • Choose: Export
  • Here is where you can export your entire course or select certain items to export. Once D2L is selected as your LMS, you can download the export cartridge.
  • The Export Cartridge will download and can be found in your downloads folder on your desktop.

2. Import OHM Course Cartridge into a Brightspace Course

From the home page of your course:

  • Choose: Course Tools
  • Choose: Course Admin
  • Choose: Import/Export/Copy Components


  • Select: Import Components
  • Select: Start


  • Select your OHM Export file
  • Choose: Import All Components

    When the import is complete, Select View Content

3. Establishing your identity in OHM through Brightspace

Navigate to one of your Graded Assignments

    • You will see an OHM login prompt: enter your credentials and/or create an OHM Account.
    • You will then be asked to choose whether OHM makes a new copy of the course you have linked to Brightspace, or if you want to use the existing one.
      1. If you are working from a Brightspace course copy you taught from previously, choose “Create a Copy.”
        or
      2. If this is the first time you have used this course in Brightspace, choose “Associate this LMS course”
      3. Your course should now be connected. If you get an error message or run into any issues, please open a ticket at support.lumenlearning.com "Submit a Request".

Please follow these instructions to import your OHM course into Brightspace or copy your OHM course from a previous term.*
