      Lumen One: D2L Brightspace - Course Import Process

      Bringing your course materials into your institution's D2L Brightspace is a simple, streamlined process.

      The Lumen team will work with your campus LMS administrator to ensure an LTI integration is in place. Once the connection is set up, you can add and organize your course content. 

      Unsure if your institution has the integration set up? Contact your Lumen representative or submit a ticket to our support team.

      Step-by-Step D2L Brightspace Instructions 

      1. Navigate to your course. Click Content in the main navigation.

      2. Click Add a module. Type Lumen One Platform Course Materials as the module name.

      3. Click Existing Activities from the newly added module. 
      4. Select Lumen One Platform LTI 1.3 from the drop down menu
      5. From the Add a Course menu, select your course name.

      6. From the Preview page, ensure that the Select All box is ticked. Click Add Course.

      7. Wait for links to be added to the LMS course

      Testing Your Lumen One Course

      • Go to any Module. Open a Study Plan. Select Check Your Readiness. Verify the pre-test works and the Study Plan updates
      • Return to a Module. Select Quiz. Verify the quiz works by entering a sample response.
      • Open Grades. Review that all graded items are connected to the Gradebook

      *Note - You won't see a grade in the gradebook from the previous verify quiz step, because you aren't a student in the course.

      Adding Improvements to Your Lumen One Course

      When Lumen makes technical improvements to our courseware, those changes are automatically reflected in your course. However, from time-to-time, we may release additional content such as additional learning modules or course-level resources. To add these optional additional resources to your course, you will need to repeat the key steps in the course import process. 

      Before You Begin: Take care during this process not to add content that is already in your course. This can create conflicts with the LMS gradebook.

      Step-by-Step Instructions: 

      1. Navigate to your course and click Content in the main navigation.

      2. Click Add a module. Enter Lumen One Additional Materials (or your own name) as the module name. You can also add the materials to an existing module. 
      3. Whether it's a new or existing module, click Existing Activities in that module. 
      4. Select Lumen One Platform LTI 1.3 from the drop down menu
      5. On the Preview page, check the box for the new materials you could like to add to your course and click "Add Content." Take care not to re-add content that already exists in your course.

      6. Wait for links to be added to your D2L Brightspace course.
