This article walks you through how to add Lumen One to your Moodle course.
Instructions for adding a new Lumen One course to Moodle
Bringing your course materials into your institution's Learning Management System is a simple, streamlined process. To start, the Lumen team will work with your campus LMS administrator to ensure an LTI integration is in place. Once the connection is set up, you can add and organize your course content.
1. Make sure to toggle the Edit Mode on the top right corner to ON:
2. In the default “General” module, select to +Add an activity or resource:
3. This will populate the first option for Moodle’s Deep Linking Picker. Find the tool titled Lumen One LTI 1.3 Production:
4. Next click “Select Content” to populate the Lumen One course catalog picker. Click on the course you would like to add to your Moodle section. In the screenshot below, we have selected Introductory Psychology.
- Note: It’s important to select the correct course material at this stage. If you select the wrong course, we will need to assist you please submit a ticket.
- Note: This upload process may take up to 5 minutes to fully be available within the course shell.
Recommendations for Customizing Your Course
- Note: Moodle also does not distinguish between “gradeable/ non-gradeable” items so things like Faculty Resources and Student Resources will show up in the gradebook.
- In order to remove them you can follow these steps recommended by Moodle, which include hiding the grade column, placing the activities in a new non-graded group, etc.
- Moodle will import the content that may be reorganized and renamed as you’d like
- Moodle default adds a blank "Announcements” link, this can be removed if desired.
- All of the content will be uploaded into one section called General. This can be renamed to your course title.
- Scrolling down on the left hand side there will be many blank sections to organize into/name/etc.
